Remote working, how we are successful.

Since the pandemic, Maly IT Solutions has moved from office-based working to a remote model. For us, this has provided more flexibility and helped us feel a little bit greener, removing the need to commute. However, it is a little challenging and has not always been smooth, so here are a few tricks we have learnt.
– Communication is King: It is important for the team to communicate; we do this in two ways: a daily “water cooler” meeting, which has no agenda. The idea is to cover those conversations you would have while getting a cup of tea. The second is regular catch-ups between team leads and the team. The agenda here is “What is stopping you from doing your job?”

– Embrace Autonomy with Clear Goals: It is important that the team be treated like adults, and they behave like adults. To do this requires an understanding that not all people work in the same way at the same hours. But at the same time that there are deadlines that have to be met, it is through good communication that we ensure we are successful in the work we do.

– Invest in the Right Tools: Technology is your bridge. Utilize project management software, video conferencing platforms, and instant messaging tools to keep everyone connected and on the same page.

By following these tips, we have fostered a thriving remote team that feels valued, connected, and empowered to achieve great things, no matter where they’re located.
